The Drafted is the state religion of Imperius, it is headed by the Unific Order, of which its members work to maintain their places of prayer, to spread and teach the values of their faith, and to assist in the rituals of a deceased persons “Drafting”

Origins & Teachings

Followers of the Drafted believe generally in the same concept of the afterlife seen in the Church of the Holy Cee, however, they consider its God to be the same entity as the Satanic creature from the Helmsdeep Church of Satanism. Reasoning that this God is itself also Satan, and merely pretends to be one or the other depending on the situation. This belief is partly derived from the concept of the Common tragedies of Blackwater mythos, in which Blackwater is believed to have been unfairly oppressed, punished, and otherwise subjected to tragedies out of a sadistics god's desire for cruel entertainment.

Whilst once argued that these were simply the consequences of Satan alone, observations regarding specific historical events such as the rise of the Kythiran Empire after it entirely absorbed the Kingdom of Helmsdeep, caused the development of a theory that reasoned for this event being the consequence of God realising it could further its wicked power over the world by combining the forces of those who followed the Church of the Holy Cee, and the Church of Satanism. As the state which developed following this had a more rigorous and absolute theological influence than both possessed prior.

This belief ties into and strengthens itself further through mythos of The Easterian damnation, which states that Gods attempted salt upon wounds was to thrust the People of Blackwater into a new continent which initially proved far more challenging and inhospitable than the Riverlands from which most settlers originated.

The pivotal event that would give the still developing faith both its purpose and it’s name, was overall perhaps one of the most important event in Imperius history in general, the so called Manifest conquest, which was a both cultural and political concept that the newly self proclaimed Imperians had proven themselves able to overcome the once believed impossible challenge of surviving, and thriving in the conditions in Easterria.

Once this belief grew popular amongst most of the population of what was still a collection of roughly aligned settlements, the Unific Order developed the idea that this event proved that even the greatest of challenges God could muster against the Imperians, could be overcome. And that thus, if a sufficient group of people could be united in a belief of defying God in both the realms of Minecraftia and the afterlife, they could wage an all out total war against God to eventually destroy it, and rule the afterlife themselves.

This motivated the Unific order to go on various campaigns across all of settled Easterria to convert people to their newfound faith, and to unite all settlements under a single centralised state. Considering this an essential step to ensuring the unity required to eventually campaign against Gods rule itself.
