Prince Gabriel Richard Francis Viromaro, usually going by Gabriel Viromaro, was the younger brother of Emperor Philip Viromaro. Known as the warrior prince, his untimely death caused a rift between the imperial House Viromaro and the High-Lords of Ardoragh that was only partially healed by Emperor Alexander Viromaro 30 years later.

Youth

Born in the Imperial Palace of Helmira, the modern-day Old Palace Bath House, the young prince studied Second Era Warfare at the University of Helmira.

Career

Unlike his 11 years older brother, Prince Gabriel was a warrior at heart. He served as an admiral in the newly established Mediori Fleet of his father, Emperor Charles I Viromaro. Upon his passing and the ascension of his brother, Emperor Philip Viromaro, he worked together with his good friend Sir P.D. Agricola in forming the Imperial Legion, using his access to the Viromaro fortune to finance the organisation and serving as its first Commander-General.

Feeling like his brother was too weak a ruler to prevent the High-Lords from scheming against the Crown led the prince to successfully petition his brother to make him official Grand Chancellor of the Empire, taking over much of the daily government procedures. In this role he passed many conservative policies, but he received universal praise for restoring relations with the Imperius Reich.

Death

In the year 133 AE great celebrations were held across the Empire, with most of them focused around Helmira. These were to celebrate Emperor Philips' first decade on the throne. One of these celebratory events were royal jousting matches in the capital. In a joust with High-Lord Von Roterstein the prince managed to successfully beat the High-Lord, only for his famous white horse to throw him off. In the fall, he broke his neck, dying instantly.

Prince Gabriel accepted a challenge by High-Lord Von Roterstein of Ardoragh, which resulted in the death of Prince Gabriel, causing a rift between the Imperial House Viromaro and the House Von Roterstein. After his death his brother appointed Sir Huey of Cantar as new Grand Chancellor, who together with the Emperor established more liberal reforms, lowering taxes and giving the High-Lords greater power.
