The Old Palace Baths

From Minecraftia Wiki

The Old Palace Baths, also known as the Imperial Baths and historically known as the Old Imperial Palace is a luxury bathhouse in Helmira.

History

The Old Palace Baths originated from the Second Era, when they were constructed at the Bay of Splendour on the orders of the Kythiran King Henry I Viromaro. Originally a hunting palace, it was used only by Henry I, and fell into disuse by the time his son Edward Viromaro took the throne, as order in Minecraftia began to disintegrate. During the Minecraftian Dark Ages the palace was looted by savages and fully left to the elements. During the Great Unification under Emperor Richard I The Great Viromaro the palace was also taken over, being used as a military barracks until the Heartlands were fully secured. After this, the palace received major renovations, becoming the new formal Imperial Palace and state residence of the subsequent Kythiran Emperors. After the death of Emperor Charles III Viromaro in the collapse of the White-Gold Tower during the middle of the Fourth Era, the Imperial Palace was used by the new Emperor Alexander Viromaro as the de facto seat of the Kythiran Crown, with the ruined White-Gold Tower being slowly renovated over the following decades.

After the death of Emperor Alexander and his son, the Crown Prince Amantis Viromaro, the subsequent succession crisis known as the Chaos of the Coronation resulted in the Kythiran General Malgeri to take over Helmira, declaring himself the new Emperor and taking residence in the palace. Once the actual new Crown Prince, Louis Viromaro, made his way to the city, his presence together with the armies of five of the Empire's provinces made the city's population rise up against the fake Emperor. As he hid in the Imperial Palace, a mob stormed it, lynching him through burning down the palace.

Under the rule of Emperor Louis Viromaro a new Imperial Palace was constructed during the Great Expansion of Helmira. The ruins of the old imperial palace were considered for destruction, but were ultimately remodelled into what is now the Old Palace Baths.
