Summerhal Palace was a summer palace and hunting lodge owned by the Kythiran imperial House Viromaro. It was their first imperial palace, constructed under the orders of Emperor Francis Viromaro.
It functioned as a tranquil place away from the busy metropolis of Helmira, situated in deep forests perfect for hunting and leisure.
Under Emperor Charles I Viromaro the palace lost most of its hunting grounds for the new Mediori Fleet. House Viromaro instead used other residences across their Empire, making Summerhal a retreat for the younger generations of nobility and the occasional setting for international diplomacy.
Emperor Philip Viromaro ordered the construction of Winterhal Palace in Helmira, architecturally based on Summerhal. His son, Emperor Henry III Viromaro, would drown in Summerhal's garden.
During the reign of Emperor Charles II Viromaro the palace was burned down during the Alcanzari Slave Rebellion, killing Charles II and his Grand Chancellor. Several weeks later, the burned out remains were used by Aqumis forces as target practice during the Siege of Solleria. After the rebellion was broken, the palace remained abandoned, resulting in the remnants being looted for remaining valuables.
In the generations since, the white stucco has since been weathered away, revealing the broken stone underneath.
Today the palace is still property of House Viromaro, though the latter have not stepped foot in it for decades. Instead, it has become home to a selection of vagabonds.
