General Malgeri was a general in the Kythiran Empire and a minor noble of Camuria. He is most known for his attempted coup during the Chaos of the Coronation.
Background
General Cicerus Malgeri was born into the now extinct minor noble House of Malgeri. Descendants of Dick Malgeri, a bastard of Emperor Richard I Viromaro. He grew up in Marsadini, where he eventually enlisted into the Imperial Legion after finishing his studies. Eventually he became the General of the Second Army of the Imperial Legion. In this state he served Emperor Alexander Viromaro, until the latter died in a hunting accident.
Coup & Fall
During the Chaos of the Coronation that followed the death of the Emperor and the Crown Prince within two days from each other, Grand Chancellor Lord Von Reventrad took control as Lord Protector of the Empire. At this time, General Malgeri's Second Army was stationed in Helmira in order to aid the Imperial Guard and the Helmiran Imperial Police with maintaining stability and peace within the capital. After several weeks of unsuccessful searches for the missing last Viromaro heir to the throne, Prince Louis Viromaro, General Malgeri decided to use the opportunity to attempt a coup. He marched his forces into the Imperial Palace, overwhelming the Imperial Guard and arresting Von Reventrad. He named himself 'Lord Regent of the Kythiran Empire', and began arresting anyone in Helmira whom he worried might stand in his way. Many of these, primarily Viromaro loyalists, were executed. Von Reventrad, locked inside an old dungeon in the White Gold Tower, managed to escape through a series of secret tunnels, eventually managing to return to Ardoragh.
Wanting to legitimatise his rule, he requested the six High-Lords to travel to Helmira in order to swear fealty to him. He prepared the White Gold Tower for a new Imperial coronation, and ordered the development of the new Imperial flag, replacing the golden Viromaro rose with a golden lion.
